DAY 1: (D) WELCOME TO TOWNSVILLE Saturday 17 August 2019

Greeting our fellow travellers, we meet our coach captain at the airport and head to our hotel for a good night’s rest, for tomorrow we set out to uncover the far-reaching landscapes and welcoming communities of the Queensland Outback.

DAY 2: (BLD) CHARTER TOWERS AND ITS HISTORY

Sunday 18 August 2019 We depart Townsville this morning with anticipation for the outback journey ahead. Making great time we arrive at the gold struck town of Charters Towers. Upon arrival, experience a personalised city tour as our knowledgeable local uncovers many significant sites and facts about the glittering town’s history. With time to enjoy lunch at the Enterprise Hotel, we then head out to explore Venus Gold Battery, here our guide offers an insight into the amazing gold rush era! Then with a touch of gold fever, we arrive at our hotel for dinner and a good nights rest, for tomorrow we head to the plains of the Longhorns!

DAY 3: (BLD) WAGONS, DAMPER & TEXAS LONGHORNS! Monday 19 August 2019

Have your cowboy hat on as you take a horse drawn wagon back in time to the old west era of the legendary Texas Longhorns! Enjoy a camp oven cooked damper and billie tea served from the genuine cowboy chuck wagon before touring the custom saddle shop. Uncover the history of this iconic and magnificent breed of cattle whilst enjoying yarns with your hosts and friends. After a special our cowboy adventure, it is now time to hang up our boots and travel back to the modern day as we continue on to Richmond.

DAY 4: (BLD) FLYING DOCTORS TO DINOSAURS Tuesday 20 August 2019

Stepping back a million years this morning, our guide from the Kronosaurus Korner Complex will lead us on a prehistoric journey through the numerous displays that showcase the fossils found in the once known Cretaceous Inland Sea. Afterwards we find ourselves watching the seamless horizon of the outback roll by, as we travel across this great land. Stopping at Cloncurry to enjoy lunch we then John Flynns Place. Uncover the story of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and John Flynn’s vision to create a Mantle of Safety for the people of the outback. Once again, we are on the move, journeying to Mount Isa where we finish a wonderful day crossing the vast outback in time for dinner.

DAY 5: (BLD) OUTBACK TOWN DISCOVERY Wednesday 21 August 2019

Good morning travellers! After yesterday journey to Mount Isa, it is only fitting that we spend the day getting to know this lively outback town at the Outback at Isa Complex. Head underground on the thrilling Hard Times Mine Tour, letting our guide light the way as we descend to the tunnels in the Alamac cage. Wearing protective clothing, including a miner's cap and lamp, our guide will offer a real insight into a miner’s life underground. Back on top soil you are treated to a 'one-stop shop' offering exciting and diverse activities, from the fascinating Laboratory Tours at the Riversleigh Fossil Centre, to the inspiring gallery exhibits inside the Isa Experience. After a wonderful day unveiling Mount Isa secrets, there will be plenty to chat about over dinner.

DAY 6: (BLD) TRAVELLING VAST LANDS TO CRUISE SPECTACULAR GORGES Thursday 22 August 2019

Up with the sparrows this morning as we hit the trail, pushing through this vast outback. Stopping occasionally for meal breaks and a chance to stretch our legs we arrive into Adels Grove at the edge of the Lawn Hill National Park. Boarding our electric pontoon boats, we begin meandering along the Lawn Hill Creek to indulge in the most stunning sights of the Lawn Hill Gorge. Take in views of the soaring gorge walls and the natural spa bath at the Indarri Falls whilst listening to your guide as the highlight key areas of interest. Then is no better way to finish off your day than with drinks and nibbles on Harry’s Hill at sunset! We then enjoy dinner before experiencing the true outback by spending our starry night in comfortable pre-erected tents with full toilet facilities located close by.

DAY 7: (BD) KARUMBA Friday 23 August 2019

We farewell Lawn Hill National Park early this morning to begin our travel day to the coast. Keeping an eye out for wildlife along the way, we take in the expanse of this rarely seen and unique part of the Australian outback before arriving into Karumba for dinner. Tonight, we dine at the Sunset Tavern, a wonderful spot to enjoy dinner while chatting amongst ourselves about the adventure we’ve had thus far!

DAY 8: (BLD) EXPLORING KARUMBA Saturday 24 August 2019

A relaxed morning today before visiting the Barramundi Discovery Centre. Enjoying morning tea here, you’ll then meet your guide who will unveil the life cycle of Barramundi. Be wowed by the diverse range of leather products made from barramundi, sea snake and much more. Take an opportunity to taste some of the ‘swimming locals’ at Ash's @ the Point Café before returning to the hotel. The afternoon is at leisure before a very special evening. Make sure you have packed your camera, as you board the Crab & Croc Cruise. Watch the sky and sea turn into fire upon the peaceful waters, while sipping on a glass of wine and having nibbles as the sun sets into the horizon. Returning to your hotel for a light dinner before a good night’s rest.

DAY 9: (BLD) TRAVELLING VAST LANDS TO NATURAL WONDERS Sunday 25 August 2019

We’ll be refreshed and ready for our journey today, travelling across the arid lands we keep an eye out for wildlife as we chat to one another about our adventures to come. Making a stop at Croydon for our lunch, we then head deep into the heart of the Gulf Savannah region of Far North Queensland and discover a hidden outback oasis - Cobbold Gorge! After a day of travel, we relax and enjoy dinner before settling for the evening.

DAY 10: (BLD) EXPLORING COBBOLD GORGE Monday 26 August 2019

Today we immerse ourselves in the natural wonder of this truly unique part of the outback and explore the remarkable Cobbold Gorge. Set within rugged sandstone formations, we grasp the uniqueness of the narrow gorge with its majestic and sheer walls aboard a custom-made, electric powered boat. Gliding along in almost eerie silence, you’ll find yourself keeping an eye out for the resident freshwater crocodiles. This will be an unforgettable highlight of your trip! We return to the Village for lunch before our next adventure. Ever wondered about life on a working cattle station? There is no better opportunity to get a taste of outback Queensland than from an insider's view of Robin Hood Station. After a special day exploring this truly unique part of the Australia we retire to our rooms before dinner.

DAY 11: (BLD) MOUNT SUPRISE Tuesday 27 August 2019

This early morning, we farewell Cobbold Gorge and head to the Undara National Park. Arriving at the Lava Lodge, set in pristine tropical Savannah woodlands, we enjoy lunch and time to settle in before our afternoon tour. Out on a personal Archway Explorer Tour, your Savannah Guide draws your attention to interesting environmental, geological and historical features before reaching the Lava Tubes. Formed over a million years ago, they are oldest standing and best-preserved system found anywhere in the world. We then return for dinner and a well deserve rest.

DAY 12: (BD) ARID OUTBACK TO LUSH RAINFORESTS Wednesday 28 August 2019

Today is our final full day on tour, to which we shall end our adventure across this great land by witnessing some wonderfully green scenery. Enjoying comfort stops along the way we head straight to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Be amazed by the spectacular tropical rainforest from the unique viewing perspective of the glass floor gondolas. After an amazing ride across the rooftop of the rainforest we cross to the tropical plant cladded Kuranda Station and begin a Scenic Railway journey back to down through the dense lush rainforest of the magnificent Barron Falls National Park. Arriving into freshwater station, we travel to Cairns feeling rejuvenated after such an invigorating day up in the canopies of rainforests.

DAY 13: (B) HOMEWARD BOUND Thursday 29 August 2019

What an astounding Queensland Outback Adventure experienced over the past 13 days! You have achieved a remarkable feat traveling this vast yet rewarding countryside, spending your days discovering spectacular gorges and with their picturesque waterfalls. Uncovering unique pioneering history, fossil rich lands and meeting the industrious locals who call this place home. You will now board your flight and arrive home with many everlasting memories to chat about with your loved ones.
