Day 1 (D): ADELAIDE Saturday 8 June 2019

Welcome to Adelaide! A good night’s rest is needed, for tomorrow we begin to uncover the delights of this intriguing state. Making new friends along the way, you will visit must-see places unique to South Australia, from islands abundant with wildlife to charming towns rich in history and produce.

Day 2 (BD): ADELAIDE TO VICTOR HARBOR Sunday 9 June 2019

This morning we hit the road and head to the bustling seaside town of Victor Harbor. Upon arriving, meet the towns iconic horse drawn tram and cross the causeway to Granite Island. Feel refreshed by the crisp sea air as you listen to the Clydesdales clip their heavy hooves along the jetty bridge. Enjoy time on the island to explore and maybe spot one of the local penguins. Back on the main land, we brows the stores and purchase lunch before diving into the towns dark whaling past at the SA Whale Centre. Be enthralled while listening to the guide as they enlighten us to the many sea ferrying tales behind the variety of displays. Finish the day of discovery by pouring over the displays of the Coast Discovery Centre Museum and unveil the hard ships of the struggling early settlers.

Day 3 (BLD): EXPLORING KANGAROO ISLAND Monday 10 June 20199

Up at sparrows call this morning as we head to Cape Jervis. Sailing across Backstairs Passage we arrive at the unmistakable sanctity of Kangaroo Island. You are in for a treat as we spend the next 2 days exploring this breathtaking island. Indulging in its towering cliffs, wild plains and pristine beaches, we discover its unique wildlife and mouth-watering produce. Firstly, uncover the secrets of Clifford’s Honey Farm and taste delicious honey ice-cream, made from the unique Ligurian bee found only on Kangaroo Island…. yum! At Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, famous for its 100% pure eucalyptus oil, enjoy lunch while discovering the makings of this fine product. This afternoon get up close and personal with some of the world’s most majestic creatures at Raptor Domain. Put on a glove and have one of the many birds fly to you or experience the power of holding a Wedge-tailed eagle. A special way to end our first day on the Island before heading to our hotel to settle in before dinner.

Another beautiful day! Joined by our guide, it is time to meet some of the locals that inhabit the island at the world-famous Seal Bay Conservation Park. This seaside park is a great place to view the largest colony of Australian sea lions, watch them play on the beach, bask in the sand and swim in the sea. We now head across the island to enjoy lunch at the Chase Café, we’re we then find ourselves spending the afternoon exploring the Flinders Chase National Park, taking in such sights as the Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.

Day 5 (BD): KANGAROO ISLAND TO HAHNDORF Wednesday 12 June 20199

Waving goodbye to Kangaroo Island we sail back across the Backstairs Passage to begin our journey to the Adelaide hills. Stopping at Pt Elliot for lunch with time to wander, we push on and arrive at our hotel, The Manna in Hahndorf. Enjoy the remainder of the day to settle into our rooms before dinner, served at The Haus Restaurant across the road.

Day 6 (BD): EXPLORING HAHNDORF Thursday 13 June 2019 9

It’s a full day exploring of Hahndorf, with our first stop at the *Jurlique Farm. Meet our insider-guide who will enlighten us to the many of the herbs, flowers and plants are grown for their natural skin care products. Discover Beerenberg Strawberry Farm, enjoy a tour and tasting of the fully Australian owned jams and preserves made on the farm. Now enjoy a special experience! Be escorted around the historic Hahndorf, visiting Germanic cottages and hearing local stories along the way. Having free time to purchase lunch and take a stroll along the street – you’ll now have a different appreciation for the local architecture. We conclude the day with a visit to the home and studio of the world-renowned artist Hans Heysen. He settled in Hahndorf in early 1900’s and built his studio, “The Cedars” in the style of a Bavarian Chalet. Enjoy a guided tour of the house, the studio and the widespread gardens. After another wonderful day, we return to our hotel.

Spend the moring travelling through the beautiful Adelaide Hills region and uncover some of the wonderful local produce. At Woodside Cheese Wrights, taste of the superb hand-crafted cheese, some of which are seasonal and only made when the milk is perfect. Now, you can’t have something savory without something sweet! The Melba’s Chocolate and Confectionery Factory, produces old Australian favorite sweets using old era chocolate making equipment and is a perfect place to collect some delicious goodies. Continuing on to Birdwood, you will discover how motor vehicles opened up our country at the National Motor Museum before enjoying lunch Blumberg Hotel. Then it’s onto the Barossa Valley, arriving at the Barossa Weintal Hotel.

Day 8 (BLD): EXPLORING THE BAROSSA VALLEY Saturday 15 June 2019

It’s a bird’s eye view at Mengler's Hill and Sculpture Park, overlooking the Barossa Valley you will get a true picture of the region before trying the regions finest at the Jacobs Creek Visitor Centre. Uncover the technique of creating this fine drop and taste for yourself why they are so well known. Enjoy morning tea here before making our way to Lyndoch and discover the Barossa Chateau. This stunning building sits in one of Australia’s most important rose gardens of international significance and is home to one of the largest collections of porcelain in Australia. Enjoy spending time looking through the Chateau collection and meandering through the lovely gardens before relishing lunch. Feeling content, we finish the day back at our hotel with time to relax before dinner.

Day 9 (BD): THE BAROSSA VALLEY TO ADELAIDE Sunday 16 June 2019

This morning we depart the beautiful Barossa Valley and head to The Whispering Wall. Locally known as an acoustic miracle, you will discover the strange effects produced by a delightful accident! Travel to the popular bayside of Glenelg. With time at leisure, you may like to discover rich history at The Bayside Discovery Centre (own cost) or brows the many shops along the parade before enjoying high tea at the Stamford Grand. After a charming afternoon we head to our hotel and settle in for the evening.

Day 10 (B): HOMEWARD BOUND Monday 17 June 2019

What an amazing slice of South Australia you have gotten to witness over these past few days, appreciating its stunning rugged costliness, captivating wildlife and inviting country towns you will no doubt have wonderful tales to tell your friends over a cup of tea when you return home. It is therefore, time to say good bye to Adelaide and to fly home with many new memories.
